The Supreme Court of Texas has the authority to regulate Texas lawyers.[1] Consequently, the following rules govern lawyers but primarily focus on the requirements of IOLTA accounts.
- Rules Governing the Operation of the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, Amended June 15, 2021: Rules 4–7 and 20–25 are applicable to lawyers who maintain IOLTA accounts.
- State Bar Act, Tex. Gov’t Code Ann., tit. 2, subtit. G, ch. 81., governing the State Bar of Texas.
- State Bar Rules, Tex. Gov’t Code Ann., tit. 2, subtit. G, app. A., address maintaining a Texas law license.
- Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure, Tex. Gov’t Code Ann., tit. 2, subtit. G, app. B., governing compulsory discipline and the grievance process.
